Aquatic Feed Supplements

Marine fish hatchery science has found that selected nutrients, fed to live organisms which are subsequently fed to aquatic animals, provide significant improvements in growth, survival and condition.

The first in the LiveBrineShrimp.com line of Aquatic Feed Supplements are Fat-Soak (high in HUFA and DHA), Vitamin-Soak (special formulation for fish), and Beta-Meal (all natural dried phytoplankton high in beta-carotene). These Feed Supplements are intended for first feeding of live food organisms such as live rotifers and brine shrimp but some can be used for direct application to aquarium coral.

Wide-mouth plastic jar packaging provides convenient supplement access for the aquarium hobbyist. It is recommended that once opened these food items should be stored in the freezer to maintain freshness.

Fat-Soak is rich in HUFA and DHA fatty acids which tend to be in limited supply in normal fish diets and therefore supplement can make a difference in the growth and survival of young and old captive aquarium species.

Use Fat-Soak by placing either rotifers or live brine shrimp in one quart of seawater. Then add 1/8th teaspoon of Fat-Soak and let gently stir with aeration for at least one hour. Strain off the live organisms and feed to your aquarium.

Fat-Soak can also be used as a direct supplement for filter feeding organisms such as soft coral and bivalves of any type. Use 1/4 teaspoon per 50 gallons. This feeding can be repeated every few days.

Fat-Soak, Net Wt: 50 gram, Product Price: $14.95. Shipping: DHL Ground unless otherwise indicated in the comments box of the order form.

Vitamin-Soak is a balanced vitamin formulation made especially for fish and invertebrates. It is used the same way as the Fat-Soak supplement except it is not recommended that you put it directly into your aquarium. Vitamin-Soak is highly concentrated and may turn your water yellowish if added directly.

Vitamin-Soak can be added along with Fat-Soak to the one-quart gut loading container of live food organisms.

Use 1/8th teaspoon Vitamin-Soak per quart for gut loading rotifers or live brine shrimp.

Vitamin-Soak, Net Wt: 50 gram, Product Price: $9.95. Shipping: DHL Ground nationwideunless otherwise indicated in the comments box of the order form.

Beta-Meal is a natural phytoplankton that is very rich in beta-carotene (The phytoplankton is low-temperature spray-dried to preserve all the valuable nutrients). Beta-Meal has been available from Northeast Brine Shrimp (LiveBrineShrimp.com) for many years and is widely used as food for filter-feeding organisms, especially live corals.

Beta-carotene is the natural substance that will give your captive fish and invertebrates their natural color as well as improved health and vitality.

Beta-Meal can be used as a gut-loading diet supplement along with Fat-Soak and Vitamin-Soak. Add 1/8th teaspoon to the gut-loading container and let live brine shrimp or live rotifers feed for at least one hour prior to straining them out for your fish food.

Beat-Meal can also be added directly to your reef aquarium as food for filter feeding corals and bivalves. Use 1/4 teaspoon per 50 gallon tank. Repeat this feeding every few days or as needed.
